Objectives of the Project

To examine the impact of the lesson study process on supporting teachers to design teaching in a way that enhancing student learning and improving teacher teaching.
To help increase teacher collaboration and improve classroom instruction in the area of mathematics.
To improve pupils' understanding of basic concept of multiplication.
To improve teaching and enhancing learning in school through lesson study process.

Time Frame of the Project

1. Introduction to lesson study (January 2011)
- Set up a team of mathematics teachers for lesson study project.

2. 1st session of the planning stage of lesson study (January 2011)

3. 2nd session of the planning stage of lesson study (February 2011)

4. 3rd session of the planning stage of lesson study (March 2011)

5. 4th session of the planning stage of lesson study (April 2011)

6. The implementation of the research lesson + reflective sessions after research lesson (April to May 2011)
- Distribution of pre-test and post-test to pupils.
- Data collection based on team observation and video recording.

7. Teacher's reflections and group reflections (April to May 2011)

8. Lesson study report writing (May 2011)
- Sharing session on the lesson study report to teachers.
